How to change your paradigm

Written by on November 23, 2022

Have you ever wondered what governs, shapes, and directs your behavior and results? It’s called a Paradigm! The Paradigm controls your habitual behavior. Any ideas that you were exposed to over and over again were like seeds being planted in fertile soil. They took root in your subconscious and became part of the paradigms that control every aspect of your life. If your paradigms are positive, you will have a happy, growth-oriented life, a healthy self-image, and the ability to adapt successfully to changes, upsets, and unforeseen events.

If you have a negative paradigm you might want to change it. But you need to understand how the mind works first.

The picture represents the human mind- conscious and sub-conscious mind. Bob Proctor likes to call this “the stick person”

Your conscious mind– has the ability to accept or reject any idea. The thoughts you choose eventually determine the results in your life. As you accept a thought, it is impressed upon the

subconscious mind. Note: The subconscious mind can’t make a difference between what’s imagined and what’s real.

The subconscious mind is your emotions and your emotions are turning into actions that lead to your results.

The body is only the instrument of the mind- our subconscious mind is everywhere in our body.

How to Change your Paradigm

Here’s a list of amazing books that can help you in detail with different practices, but let me tell you the best way to change your paradigm – THE REPETITION. There is only one way and thousands of different approaches such as:

Affirmations

Step one: Write down a goal, dream, or situation that you haven’t yet resolved in your life. Be as detailed as you can.

Step two: Describe what is your thinking about this situation and what actions are you taking because of your thinking. Is it a limiting belief, is it positive or negative thinking?

Step three: Circle all the negative words that are limiting you in achieving your goals and change them with their opposites.

Step four: Ask yourself what is causing this thinking. Create an affirmation that will assist you in your re-programming your mind. It should be exactly the opposite of what you are thinking about the situation.

For example, if your paradigm is you’ll never earn more money, your affirmation should be:

” I am so happy and grateful now that money comes to me on a continual basis through multiple sources”

Step six: Write this on a card and carry it with you all day long. Read it as often as you can. In time, you’ll begin to notice yourself thinking and acting in a different way.

Visualization

I already mentioned that our subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between what’s real and what’s imagined. That’s why this technique is so powerful. You can also use it for manifestation. When you imagine something clearly, it uses exactly the same rotations in your brain and nervous system as actually experiencing it! The imagined outcome begins to feel natural and real as if it’s already happened!

There are several ways of visualization:

1. Vision Board

Get creative! You can make your vision board by cutting out pictures from magazines or you can do it completely digitally on your computer. Let’s say you want to lose weight or you want to find your true love and your paradigms are laziness, lack of motivation, finding excuses, or simply limiting beliefs such as “ I would never be able to look fit like X person or True love doesn’t exist”. Remember: there is nothing you can’t achieve, the only thing that’s holding you back is your paradigm. And you are going to change it.

    1) choose your focus – if you want to lose weight, open up your favorite magazine and find the body type you want for yourself. Cut it out and stick it on your board. Continue with this practice, cut out as many outcomes as you wish, and put them on your board. If you are more of a digital type, simply create a collage on your phone or computer with pictures of the situations you want in your life. They must be completely opposite to your current paradigms. After you are done, place the vision board somewhere you can observe it every day. You can also set it as wallpaper on your devices. Watch it every day, several times a day and you will start seeing the results you are after. Now it will take a fair amount of energy and understanding to do these things, but I promise you it will be very much worth the effort because it will allow you to write your own ticket in life.

2. Active visualization

You can do it through guided meditation, writing your outcomes as if they have already happened, or simply visualizing your desire as vividly as you can ( again in the present tense). Get emotionally connected with the idea, feel it, enjoy it, and see it in your mind and you will attract it into your life. Because no matter if you believe it or not, the law of attraction always works- just like the law of gravity. Practice it daily, feel grateful, and watch your paradigms change.

Let’s sum up

First, remember that a paradigm is a multitude of habits that are lodged in your subconscious mind.

Second, you must change the paradigm in the same way it was created—through the repetition of information.

And, third, you must understand that to change a paradigm you have to consciously and deliberately replace a “bad” habit with a good habit. Otherwise, you’re going to form another bad habit because nature abhors a vacuum.

Start the process by consciously choosing new beliefs that are aligned with the habits you want, and then plant them in the place of the old beliefs in your subconscious mind
